The Simple Truth About Prayer

There have been many books and teachings about prayer, from basic how to pray to praying the special prayer that is guaranteed to be answered. I see no need for this unending complicating of truth. Where is the child-like faith that the church once had, why the need to complicate everything with our faith, lets just believe in the True and Living Most High God and believe that He is! I have heard teachings on prayer that explain every prayer should end with the phrase "in the name of Jesus of Nazareth', so there is no confusion as to which Jesus you're talking about. Lately there have been teachings about the tallit (prayer shawl) and its magical abilities. This makes me cringe, so many people are hungry for answers that can't be bought, yet they send countless dollars in hope of the miracles that they seek. Stop seeking miracles and start seeking the Messiah. My Elohim, YHWH, answers my prayers, I could testify for days of His kindness and favor in answering my prayers, His ear is inclined to me, just as any loving father would bend down to hear his child.

Many believers lack by their own description a healthy prayer life. Reasons are many, from I don’t have enough time to I don’t know how. Many feel they aren’t holy enough or righteous enough because they don’t have much of a relationship with YHWH. Yet, the very foundation of a relationship with YHWH is prayer. Simply, you don’t have the relationship because you don’t pray and you don’t pray because you don’t have the relationship. It is now time to understand prayer what it is, who we pray to, how we should pray.

What is prayer? When Yahshua went to pray in Matthew 26 vs. 36-46, Mark 6 v 46, Luke 11 v 1, He went to worship and supplicate, that is pray. Pray is a word that means worship ( honor YHWH for who He is ) and supplicate ( make an earnest request ). Hebrews 11 v 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that comes to YHWH has to believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those that earnestly seek him. This verse tells us it takes faith to please YHWH. So where do we get faith? Romans 10 v 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Elohim. John 1 v 14 And the Word became flesh, and pitched His tent among us… Faith comes from Yahshua! Salvation comes from Yahshua! When salvation sprung forth in your life it required faith to receive, which came from the Word, Yahshua. This is the same faith needed to please YHWH and if we have this faith, we believe He is and He is a rewarder. You can not believe He is without believing He is a rewarder, in other words if you don’t believe He is a rewarder you don’t believe He is. When you pray, which is, worshiping and making supplications, which is, honoring YHWH and making earnest requests, you are honoring YHWH by believing He is and He rewards. YHWH is worshiped by you making earnest requests of him.

Who should we pray to ? YHWH, Yahshua, Set-apart Spirit? The disciples aware of Yahshua's prayer life approached him and asked, teach us to pray. The lesson was Luke 11 vs 1-4, Matthew 6 vs 5-15. Luke 11 v 2, When you pray, say: Our Father in the heavens… Clearly the answer is we pray to YHWH, our Father.

How should we pray? Regardless of standing, kneeling, eyes opened, hands raised and countless other ways, we must pray in faith, Hebrews 11 v 6, we must pray to the Father, Luke 11 v 2, and we must make our supplications in Yahshua’s name, John 16 vs 23- 24, … Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My Name, he shall give you. Until now you have asked naught in My Name. Ask, and you shall receive, in order that your joy might be complete. Truly, truly, tells us this is an important truth. Whatever we ask YHWH in Yahshua's name, He will give it to us. That’s it, nothing else, read the verse before and after, there’s no trick here. Whatever you ask YHWH in Yahshua's name He gives it to you. Verse 24, until now you haven’t asked for anything, until now, ask. Just ask, now, and your joy might be complete. YHWH wants us to ask so He can give us whatsoever we ask so our joy might be complete. Earthly parents don’t make their children beg for things nor do they live in mansions and make the children sleep in the bushes. They have as much joy in providing as the child does in receiving. YHWH wants our joy to be complete.

YHWH will not answer your prayers to have you hurt, no more than you would give a loaded gun to a small child to play with. James 4 vs 2-3, You desire, and do not have. You murder, and are jealous, and are unable to obtain. You strive and fight, and you do not possess, because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask evilly, in order to spend it on your pleasures. YHWH knows best.

John 14 v 13, And whatever you ask in My Name, that I shall do, in order that the Father may be esteemed in the Son. Will the Father be glorified in the Son by what you ask? Psalm 66 vs 18-19, If I have seen wickedness in my heart, YHWH would not hear. Truly, Elohim has heard me; He has given heed to the voice of my prayer. With sin out of our lives we will ask for the right things and our God will attend to our prayers.

Will you pray? May I pray with you? May I pray for you?

He is YHWH my Elohim, He has brought me out of the house of sin. I will not put any mighty ones in YHWH's face. I will not make any images or idols and bow down to them. I will not bring the Name of YHWH to naught. I will remember the Sabbath and set it apart.  I will honor my father and mother. I will not murder. I will not commit adultery. I will not steal. I will not bear false witness. I will not covet.
